Despite four touchdowns by Denton's Trevon Jackson, Lake Dallas was able to get past the freshman Gold Broncos 35-34 on Thursday night.
Jackson scored on runs of 15, 18 and 14 yards and returned an interception 60 yards for another TD.
Also for the Broncos (3-4, 1-2), Dailon Holmes accounted for a safety and Christian Rodriguez scored on a 7-yard TD run.
Meanwhile, Anthony Cunningham had an interception, Preston Broadbent had two tackles for losses and recovered a fumble and LaMonta Moss had a sack and broke up a pass.

Denton used a 10-yard touchdown run by Promise Nwanahiudu to manufacture a win over Lake Dallas.
Other highlights for the Broncos (4-3, 2-1) were D'Monte Smart's fumble recovery and pass breakups by Michael Cox and Stefan Whelchel.
Ryan JV Blue 23, The Colony 12
THE COLONY - Ryan Blue recorded a hard-fought 23-12 junior varsity victory over The Colony.
Ryan quarterback Kevin Ray threw for one touchdown and scored another on the ground to lead the offensive attack.
Running back AJ Anderson started the scoring for Ryan with a 6-yard TD run in the first quarter and Arian Burdge added the extra point.
Ryan led 9-6 at halftime after the Raider defense recorded a safety in the second quarter.
Danny Mesa caught a 27-yard scoring pass from Ray in the third quarter. Ray completed the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 2-yard run, and Burdge added the PAT.
Anderson had 109 yards rushing on 19 carries, while Ray finished with 32 yards on 11 attempts.
Robert Conner, Alex Burton and Mesa led the Ryan receivers.
