What’s on the line: Argyle has now won four straight since a loss to Abilene Wylie that exposed some issues with the young team. Argyle’s defense has forced 17 turnovers.

AUBREY AT FW TRINITY VALLEY

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Rosenthal Stadium

Records: Aubrey (2-3), Trinity Valley (2-3)

What’s on the line: After starting the season with three straight losses, the Chaparrals have reeled off two straight wins after getting their quarterback, Kyle Lynn, back from injury and behind the rushing of Daniel Longhenry in last week’s win over Sanger.

Trinity Valley player to watch: QB Austin Henyon

 

PILOT POINT AT BOYD

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Yellow Jacket Stadium

Records: Pilot Point (4-1, 1-0), Boyd (4-1, 1-0)

What’s on the line: The Bearcats will try to keep rolling in District 5-2A (I) against Boyd. Both teams are coming off wins in their district opener, and in a tight district, both teams could definitely use a win.

BOWIE AT PONDER

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Ponder Field

Records: Bowie (4-1, 0-1), Ponder (2-3, 0-1)

What’s on the line: Both Bowie and Ponder are trying to scratch the win column in district play. Ponder surrendered 457 rushing yards last week to Whitesboro, while Bowie surrended a late fourth-quarter lead to Boyd.

Ponder player to watch: WR Christian Worthington

 

KRUM AT BURKBURNETT

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Bulldog Stadium

Records: Krum (5-0), Burkburnett (0-5)

What’s on the line: Burkburnett got slashed by Mineral Wells’ rushing attack, and the Bulldogs have the task of trying to stop undefeated Krum this week. The Bobcats are averaging 374.6 rushing yards a game.

Burkburnett player to watch: RB Bobby Ingram

 

CALVARY AT IRVING UNIVERSAL

When: Saturday, 3 p.m.

Where: Irving Sam Houston MS

Records: Calvary (2-2), Universal (N/A)

What’s on the line: Calvary defeated Carrollton Harmony 97-12, making the six-man score look like a basketball contest. Calvary could use another win in its final nondistrict game.
