Brandon Boyzuick, Argyle, football
Argyle’s quarterback played a huge role in his team’s 69-0 dismantling of Frisco Lone Star. Boyzuick had another solid week, completing 15 of 19 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns. It was another easy win for Argyle, which has locked up a playoff spot with two weeks left.
Ian Sadler, Argyle, football
Sadler made history last week. He became the first Argyle player to have a rushing, passing, receiving and return touchdown in the same game. Sadler also added two punts for good measure. The junior “wide receiver” finished with 101 yards on five catches.
Brandon Simpson, Lake Dallas, football
Simpson filled in for injured quarterback Marshall Dominy by carrying the ball 30 times for 142 yards and a touchdown in Lake Dallas’ 20-11 win against Wichita Falls last Thursday. Simpson completed 5 of 8 passes for 55 yards and one interception in a game the Falcons had to win.
Demontrie Taylor, Guyer, football
Taylor shined in Guyer’s nine-point victory against Wichita Falls Rider last Friday. The outside linebacker compiled 18 tackles, with four of those coming behind the line of scrimmage. Taylor recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter, smothering a late drive by Rider.
Tyrone Williams, Ryan, football
Ryan’s game plan in its narrow win over Lewisville involved a run-oriented attack. Williams had 22 carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Both touchdowns came in the second half, with the last TD coming with 3:07 left in the fourth quarter, which proved to be the game-winner.
