Subvarsity basketball: Fossil Ridge’s huge quarter dooms Guyer JV

Keller Fossil Ridge used a fierce fourth-quarter rally to outscore the Guyer junior varsity 24-17 and take a 53-51 victory over the Wildcats on Friday.

Guyer, 15-11 on the season and 5-6 in district play, was led by Xavier Brown with 19 points and Kason Kilgore with 14.

Keller JV 73, Guyer 47

Keller led from start to finish in dispensing Guyer 73-47 in a junior varsity game on Tuesday.

For the Wildcats, Kason Kilgore led the way with 11 points while Dave Dhaliwal had eight points. Xavier Brown and Bryson Erby each scored six points.

Others in the scoring column included Demontrie Taylor with five points and Erik Ramon and Gordon Hill with four apiece.

Girls

Denton JV 50, Lake Dallas 34

A strong second half helped Denton produce a victory over Lake Dallas.

The Lady Broncos (14-11, 7-2) scored 31 second-half points to put it away.

Leading the scoring attack for Denton was Destini Lee with 13 points. Jordan Hudspeth and Natalie Mederos each had eight points while Jordan Mazziota scored seven points and Victoria Amadi finished with six.

Ryan JV 36, Denton 33

Ryan escaped Denton in a nail-biter.

For the Lady Broncos (14-12, 7-3), Victoria Amadi had seven points. Jordan Mazziota and LaNeisha Hudspeth finished with six points apiece and Destini Lee scored five in the loss.
