ABILENE — The Denton girls team is in seventh place after the first day of the Class 4A Region I tournament at Diamondback Golf Club.
The Lady Broncos shot a 367 Wednesday.
Trophy Club Byron Nelson leads the 16-team field with a score of 312, while Aledo is in second at 331. The top two finishers at the regional qualify for the state tournament.
Stephanie Swenson led Denton with a score of 88. Payton Andress shot 92 and Jill Jordan finished with a 93. Stephanie Mobley shot 94, and Lindsey Heal completed the course in 98 strokes.
