Volleyball roundup: Yates leads Guyer to sweep of Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS — Mikayla Yates had 14 kills to help lead Guyer to a sweep of Wichita Falls on Tuesday night, winning 28-26, 25-20, 25-15.

Emily Gorr recorded eight digs for the Lady Wildcats.


Denton d. Wichita Falls Rider

WICHITA FALLS — Jade Akins had 18 kills and 12 digs to lead Denton to a 25-22, 30-28, 17-25, 25-19 victory over Wichita Falls Rider.

The Lady Broncos are now 18-15 on the season and 4-4 in District 5-4A.

Kendall Wagner recorded 18 digs and 16 kills for the Lady Broncos, while Alex Dane had 17 digs. Morgan Reese recorded 27 assists and Brittany Keffer had four blocks.


Pilot Point d. Gunter

PILOT POINT — Pilot Point swept Gunter 25-14, 25-15, 25-17, keeping the Lady Cats undefeated in District 12-2A at 7-0.

Kirby Smith led Pilot Point (24-6) with 11 kills and 10 digs, while Feliciana Reed had 28 assists and Cassie Reeves recorded four service aces. Ashton Richey and Andrea Campbell each had eight kills. Campbell also added 13 digs.


Plano Prestonwood d. Liberty Christian

ARGYLE — Liberty Christian fell to Plano Prestonwood Christian in three sets, 25-16, 25-13, 25-11, to fall to 1-7 in TAPPS 5-A.

Paige Jeary led the Lady Warriors (15-17) with eight assists and three aces, while Ali Eager recorded six kills.


Aubrey d. Princeton

AUBREY — Kelsey Scribner had 15 kills and eight digs as Aubrey posted a 25-16, 13-25, 25-23, 25-10 nondistrict victory over Princeton.

Maggie McCullough added seven kills, six digs and six blocks for the Lady Chaparrals (15-15).


Fort Worth Brewer d. Lake Dallas

CORINTH — Lake Dallas fell to 3-5 in District 5-4A after falling to visiting Fort Worth Brewer 25-23, 25-21, 13-25, 25-21.

Megan Dando led the Lady Falcons (12-21) with 19 kills, 15 digs and two blocks. Macey Bauman recorded 20 assists, while Amanda Edwards had 15 digs and Megan Turner had eight kills.
