Girls basketball roundup: Guyer whips White to move to 4-0

The Guyer Lady Wildcats remained unbeaten with a 53-11 rout of Dallas W.T. White.

Bre Clay-Baker led the Lady Wildcats with 20 points, with Quamase Moss pitching in nine points.

The victory moved Guyer to 4-0 on the season.

 

Argyle 43, Granbury 37

ARGYLE – Jesse Sheridan, Delaney Sain and Allea Harris all scored in double-figures as the Argyle Lady Eagles rolled to a 43=37 victory over Granbury.

Sheridan had 13 points, four assists and three rebounds while Sain finished with 12 points and four rebounds. Harris had 10 points, pulled down four rebounds and handed out three assists.

 

Ryan 48, McKinney 44 (2OT)

McKINNEY — The Ryan Lady Raiders outlasted McKinney in double overtime.

Danielle Richardson led the Lady Raiders with 16 points, with Teana Ogden adding 10 points.

The win moved Ryan to 3-3.

 

The Colony 54, Denton 41

Despite outscoring The Colony 13-9 in the fourth quarter, the Denton Lady Broncos are still searching for their first victory.

Brittney O’Neal led The Colony with 18 points, with Taylor Holley adding 16 points.

For Denton (0-3), April Pena led with 16 points and Le’andra Johnson tallied seven points.

 

Aubrey 51, Wichita Falls City View 25

AUBREY — Kendyl Wright’s 13 points helped lead Aubrey past Wichita Falls City View.

Aubrey’s Mahaley Millican had 12 points, with Alex Martinez adding nine. The Lady Chaparrals (2-1) used a 17-2 third quarter to pull away for their second victory.

“We played better in the third quarter, especially on the defensive end,” Aubrey head coach Johnny Hodge said. “We struggled the first half scoring, and we started moving the ball and making shots.”

 

Krum 43, Lucas Lovejoy 26

LUCAS — After jumping out to a 9-2 lead in the first quarter, the Krum Lady Bobcats cruised.

Rachel Wallace led the Lady Bobcats with 16 points, and Julia Schmaltz had 11 points.

The Lady Bobcats (3-0) remained undefeated, with Lucas Lovejoy falling to 1-4.

 

Ponder 45, Callisburg 28

CALLISBURG — Madison Stout led the Ponder Lady Lions(2-1) with 18 points as they defeated Callisburg.

Stout also had five rebounds, five steals and three assists, while Kayley Harper added eight points, 10 rebounds, two steals and three assists.

Ponder 52, Fort Worth Christian 42

PONDER — After taking a 31-26 lead, the Ponder Lions held off Fort Worth Christian for their first win of the season.

Clay Morgan led Ponder with 23 points, with Cade Copp and Micah Broadstreet adding five points apiece.
