Basketball roundup: Guyer fizzles out in opening game of Coca-Cola Classic

FORT WORTH — Guyer opened the Fort Worth school district’s Coca-Cola Classic with a 69-45 loss to Arlington Bowie on Thursday.

Sean Choate paced the Wildcats with 13 points, while Zack Duncan had nine points and Mitchell Willard added seven points in the loss.

 

Argyle 59, Tuscola Jim Ned 45

FORT WORTH — Zach Dickerson led Argyle with 20 points in a victory over Tuscola Jim Ned in the first round of the Whataburger Tournament.

Spencer McCloud had 13 points for the Eagles and Shane Priddy added 11.

 

Ponder 67, Van 46

FORT WORTH — Clay Morgan scored 25 points to lead Ponder to a victory over Van in the Whataburger Tournament.

Jon Sidler, Josh Peterson and Brady Anderson each had eight points for the Lions (15-6).

Guyer 59, Dallas White 28

DALLAS — Bre Wickware scored 15 points to lead the Guyer Lady Wildcats to a victory over Dallas W.T. White in their second game of the Dallas school district’s Coca-Cola Tournament.

Katy Davis scored 12 points for Guyer (13-5) and Jada Calloway added eight.

 

Hebron 37, Guyer 29

DALLAS — Despite 13 points from Quamese Moss, Guyer fell to Hebron in its first game at the Coca-Cola Tournament.

Wickware added six points for Guyer.

 

Argyle 57, Godley 44

SAGINAW — Allea Harris scored 23 points to lead Argyle to a victory over Godley in its first game of the Whataburger Tournament.

Delaney Sain had 11 points for the Lady Eagles (17-3), while Jesse Sheridan scored 10.

 

Liberty Christian 57, Martin’s Mill 42

SAGINAW — Rebekah Hand scored 15 points to help the Liberty Christian Lady Warriors (9-10) defeat Martin’s Mill in the Whataburger Tournament.
