ARLINGTON — The Guyer Lady Wildcats opened the season Thursday night with a 2-0 victory over Arlington Lamar in the Emily Hunter Memorial Tournament at Arlington.
Guyer opened the scoring in the ninth minute. Hannah Alspach sent a pass across the 6-yard box, and Taylor Heaton tucked it home to put the Wildcats up.
Alspach scored in the 18th minute off a pass from Gairy Natividad.
Lady Wildcats goalkeeper Mikala Refroe was only forced to make one save.
Guyer plays Arlington at 3:30 p.m. today.

Argyle 1, Lake Dallas 1
PROSPER — Argyle and Lake Dallas opened their seasons with a draw in the Prosper tournament.
After Eagles midfielder Seth Fountain scored to put Argyle ahead, Lake Dallas answered with a goal before halftime.
Today, Argyle will face Frisco Lone Star at noon and Greenville at 8 p.m.
Frisco Liberty 4, Guyer 0
FRISCO — Guyer dropped its opener in the Frisco school district’s Dr. Pink Tournament.
Guyer produced four shots on goal, eight fewer than Liberty.
The Redhawks got on the board with two goals in the final six minutes of the first half, including a breakaway goal with four seconds on the clock.
