Soccer roundup: Guyer boys post pair of shutouts

FRISCO — The Guyer Wildcats recorded their second shutout of the day, defeating Amarillo Palo Duro 1-0 at FC Dallas Stadium.

Michael Munoz scored the only goal 35 minutes into the first half, with the assist from McKenna Cook.

With the win, Guyer improved to 2-1 on the season.

 

Guyer d. North Crowley

FRISCO — In their first game Friday, the Wildcats were able to recover after a tough loss Thursday night against Frisco Liberty and went on to defeat North Crowley 5-0.

Bryan Jacinto scored the first of his goals for the Wildcats 18 minutes into the first half, with an assist from Sean Diamond.

One minute later, Diamond assisted McKenna Cook on Guyer’s second goal.

Guyer added three more goals in the second half as Connor Bourgeois scored, receiving an assist from Cook. Cook then added another assist on Jacinto’s second goal, while Israel Castillo scored, with the assist from Jacinto.

 

Girls

Guyer d. Arlington

ARLINGTON — Britany Crabtree scored twice and had an assist to the lead the Guyer Lady Wildcats to a 4-0 victory.

Nine minutes into the first half, Caitlyn Caro assisted Crabtree on the Lady Wildcats’ first goal of the night.

Three and a half minutes in to the second half, Caro again assisted Crabtree for her second goal of the night.

Guyer’s third goal came 12 minutes into the second half from Gairy Natividad, with the assist from Crabtree.

Logan McPhail scored Guyer’s final goal16 minutes into the second half, with the assist from Taylor Heaton.

 

Denton d. Sherman

DENTON — After a scoreless game at the half, Lindsey Wilson scored two goals to help lead Denton to a 2-0 season-opening win over Sherman.

In the 50th minute, Lindsey Wilson scored the go-ahead goal off of an assist from Alana Burns.

Wilson scored her second goal 72 minutes in off of an assist from Sarah Fremder.

“We played very well,” Denton coach Iseeb Khoury said.
