Baseball/softball roundup: Sanger whips Callisburg

SANGER — The Sanger Indians relied on Tanner Thomas’ pitching and Ted Wisdom’s hitting to lead them to a 17-0 win over Callisburg on Thursday.

Thomas struck out four, walked two and allowed four hits. Closer Wilding Smith allowed two hits.

Wisdom helped jump-start the Indians’ 12-run first inning. Wisdom had a triple and reached base twice in the inning, scoring both times.

The game was called in the fourth inning on the run rule.

Argyle 7, Palmer 5 (8)

DALLAS — Argyle and Palmer went into extra innings tied at 5, and the Eagles ended up on top after one extra frame.

In the top of the eighth, Drew Gooch singled in a run and Tyler Gibson doubled in a run to put the Eagles up by two.

Argyle’s Parker Mushinski struck out the side in the bottom of the eighth to close out the game.

Mushinski recorded the win for the Eagles (14-2), allowing five runs on seven hits.

MARIETTA, Okla. — The Krum Bobcats earned another shutout victory, this time defeating Marietta by 11 runs.

Josh Reeves recorded the win for Krum (14-1), allowing only three hits.

Brennan Ellis had a double for Krum and Colten Lucas had a triple.

Pilot Point 7, Houston Westside 4

SAN MARCOS — Pilot Point relied on Skylar Cagle on offense and defense, as she led the Lady Cats to a victory over Houston Westside in the San Marcos tournament.

Cagle recorded the win in the circle, allowing four runs on six hits. Cagle went 3-for-4 with a triple and one run scored.
