Baseball/softball roundup: Sanger holds off Krum

KRUM — The Sanger Lady Indians rode the hot bats of Nicole Nordie and Savannah Matheus and held off a late rally by Krum to take a 8-6 District 9-3A victory Tuesday night.

Sanger (20-3, 2-0 district) led 6-0 after three innings before Krum rallied for four runs in the fourth and two in the bottom of the seventh.

Kelly Mardones picked up the win, fanning six, before Nordie came on in relief and recorded two strikeouts. The pair combined for a three-hitter.

Nordie had three hits and drove in three runs, while Matheus had a triple, double and three RBIs. Morgan Turkoly had a two-run double for Sanger.

Frisco Lone Star 2, Argyle 1

FRISCO — Argyle and Frisco Lone Star locked into a scoreless battle for seven innings before the Eagles pushed across a lone run in the eighth.

That wasn’t enough, as Lone Star came up with two runs in the bottom of the frame to take a District 10-3A victory.

Argyle pitcher Parker Musinski suffered the loss, allowing just three hits. Dillion Harp had a double for the Eagles (17-3, 1-1).
