DECATUR — Wilding Smith hit a three-run home run in the first inning to jump-start Sanger’s 4-3 victory over Decatur on Tuesday.

Brennan Bloom recorded the win for the Indians (13-8, 2-2 District 9-3A), allowing three runs and six hits.

Ted Wisdom, Austin Lange and Cody Martin hit doubles for Sanger.

ADDISON — The Liberty Christian Warriors relied heavily on Connor McMann, who allowed five hits and held Addison Trinity Christian to one run in a 5-1 Liberty victory.

Wade Oliver hit a double for the Warriors.

AZLE — Despite Cole Wessling’s 2-for-3 effort at the plate, including a double and an RBI, the Guyer Wildcats (9-14, 5-3 District 5-4A) fell to Azle 4-2.

Jud Kinzy (3-2) took the loss, allowing four runs and 11 hits.

Pilot Point 10, Sunnyvale 0

PILOT POINT — The Pilot Point Lady Cats, behind the no-hit pitching of Skylar Cagle, rolled to a 10-0 run-rule victory over Sunnyvale on Monday.

Pilot Point, No. 1 in Class 2A, improved its overall record to 26-1-1 and its District 12-2A mark to 8-0.

Cagle fanned nine and allowed just one base runner to earn the victory.

Cagle helped her own cause with a 3-for-3 day at the plate, driving in three runs. Haley Evans also had three RBIs, two coming on a walk-off home run in the fifth.

Lori Campbell had two hits and a pair of RBIs, and Natalie Larson led off the game with a double.

Brock 6, Ponder 2

PONDER — The Brock Lady Eagles rallied from a two-run deficit with six runs in the fifth and sixth innings to defeat the Ponder Lady Lions in a District 9-2A clash Monday.

Ponder, which entered the game ranked 12th in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association poll, jumped out to a 2-0 lead after two innings against the 19th-ranked Lady Eagles. Brock scored four times in the fifth and added two in the sixth behind a 14-hit attack.

Celina 9, Argyle 2

CELINA — The Celina Lady Bobcats scored eight runs in their final four at-bats to knock off the Argyle Lady Eagles in District 10-3A action Monday.

Argyle held a 2-1 lead after two innings before Celina took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the third and added six runs over the next three innings.

Alyssa Bruton took the loss for Argyle, allowing 13 hits. Kaylie Pool led Argyle at the plate with three hits.
