LEWISVILLE — Mitchell Bridges stole home and Ryan beat Lewisville 1-0 on Friday night.

Bridges was on third when the Lewisville’s pitcher made a pickoff throw to first, and he stole home. The Raiders (7-21) earned their first District 5-5A victory, improving to 1-12 in the district.

Ryan Burks recorded the win on the mound, allowing Lewisville just one hit.

Cade Kennedy hit a double for the Raiders.

Wichita Falls Rider 8, Denton 1

Denton slipped to last place in District 5-4A with a record of 1-12, and Wichita Falls Rider secured the district championship.

Roman Arnold took the loss on the mound for the Broncos (7-15), allowing eight runs and 10 hits.

Liberty Christian 7,  Dallas Bishop Lynch 1

DALLAS — The Liberty Christian Warriors relied on Hayden Holley’s pitching to lead them to a 7-1 victory over Dallas Bishop Lynch.

Holley allowed one run and three hits.

Foster Ford, Daniel Keene and Weldon Whittle each hit doubles for Liberty; Ford had three, Keene two and Whittle one.

Sanger 2, Decatur 1

SANGER — Connor Martin and Tanner Thomas scored the two runs in the first inning that led Sanger to a 2-1 victory over Decatur.

The Indians improved to 6-2 in District 9-3A, securing them at least a share of the championship with Gainesville. If Gainesville wins today, the two teams will compete in a tiebreaker on at 7 p.m. Thursday at Denton High. If Gainesville loses, Sanger will be the district champion.

Goose Ritzel recorded the win on the mound for Sanger (18-9), allowing only one run on one hit.

PONDER — Dylan Nichelson and Keaton Malcom combined for four runs to lead Ponder to a 7-6 victory over Alvord.

Dallas Bishop Lynch 4, Liberty Christian 0

DALLAS — Liberty Christian saw its record slip to 8-4 in TAPPS 5A District 1 after losing to Dallas Bishop Lynch 4-0.

Rachel Rainwater recorded the loss, allowing four runs and three hits.

 

Aubrey 5, Carrollton Ranchview 3

CARROLLTON — Nikki Brogdon hit an inside-the-park home run to help lead the Aubrey Lady Chaps to a 5-3 victory over Carrollton Ranchview.

Kaley Reding recorded the win for Aubrey, allowing three runs and seven hits. She also hit a double.

With the win, the Lady Chaps improved to 22-7 on the season and 5-3 in District 10-3A, putting them in second place.

TROPHY CLUB — The Denton Lady Broncos slipped to 2-12 in District 5-4A after losing to Trophy Club Nelson 10-1.

Cori Wilkinson recorded the loss for the Lady Broncos (14-15-1), allowing 10 runs and nine hits.

Jessica Juarez had a double for Denton.
