Boys basketball: Aubrey splits pair

AUBREY — Aubrey’s boys made up for lost action because of previously canceled games and split two at home Saturday.

The Chaparrals started the day with a 38-36 victory against Gainesville. After taking an early lead, Aubrey held on for the win despite scoring only two points in the fourth quarter. Drew Davis had a team-high nine points, while Bo Loftin scored eight points.

In the second contest, Sanger took advantage of a tired Aubrey squad and won 41-33.

Sanger’s Tyler Roelofs scored a team-high 10 points, while Aubrey (10-12) was led by Cooper Turrubiarte’s 15 points.
