Track and field: Thompson wins 110 hurdles

AUSTIN — Ryan’s boys 800-meter relay team and Argyle senior Reese Thompson were two of the area’s top performers on the final day of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

Ryan’s relay team of Terrell Cross, Paul Hunter, Maurice Gordon and Cameron Williams finished third in the high school Division II final with a time of 1:26.33. Guyer’s 800 relay team made the final but was disqualified.

Thompson won the Division I 110 hurdles. Thompson, who signed with Texas to participate in the decathlon, finished in 14.32 seconds.

Argyle’s girls 1,600 relay team finished third with a time of 4:00.47.

Guyer senior Jalen Hunter finished third in the boys 110 hurdles with a time of 14.08 seconds.

Ryan senior Xavier Gray finished 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 44-6 3/4, and was 19th in the long jump with a mark of 20-10 1/2. Ryan senior Sekou Clark finished 28th in the shot put with a mark of 41-10 1/2.

Guyer senior Devin Norton crossed the finish line at 11:13.05 to finish 18th in the girls 3,200. Sanger senior Jacob Perry finished the boys 3,200 in 9:37.84, which was good for 19th place.
