Volleyball roundup: Ryan whips visiting Wilson

The Ryan volleyball team earned a sweep of Dallas Woodrow Wilson on Tuesday, 25-16, 25-17, 25-16.

Ryan’s Sydney Lundgren had 10 kills while Alex Sumner had nine. Arissa Chapell tallied 16 digs, Brynn Warnack assisted on 11 points and Faith Pittman notched two blocks.

The Lady Raiders will play in the NCTC Tournament on Thursday.

Argyle d. Little Elm

ARGYLE — The Argyle Lady Eagles (5-3) earned a 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 25-18 victory over Little Elm behind 19 kills and 19 digs from Eighmy Dobbins.

Argyle’s Katy Keenan added nine kills and 14 digs, while Alexa Bass had 10 digs and 23 assists.

The Lady Eagles will play in the Northwest ISD Volleyball Classic on Thursday.

Calvary splits pair

LINDSAY — Calvary’s volleyball team swept Paradise 25-16, 25-23, 25-16 but fell to Lindsay 25-20, 23-25, 30-28, 24-26, 15-12 in a triangular.

Jordan Debus totaled 44 kills in the two matches for the Lady Lions. Kelly Crow finished with 61 digs and Alex Martinez had 67 assists.

Calvary will be in the Graham tournament beginning Friday.

Van Alstyne d. Pilot Point

PILOT POINT — Pilot Point lost a hard-fought match with Van Alstyne in five sets, 24-26, 25-13, 23-25, 25-15, 16-14.

MacKenzie David recorded 17 kills with 10 digs for Pilot Point, while Natalie Larson had 16 digs with 15 assists. Carson Doughty added 40 digs for the Lady Cats (2-5), who play at Gainesville at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
