Krum quarterback Caz Wojciak breaks for a big gain against Burkburnett Friday night.

BURKBURNETT — Reed Flores and the Krum Bobcats’ running game rolled over the Burkburnett Bulldogs 64-0 at their homecoming game Friday night at Bulldogs Stadium.

The Bobcats chalked up 512 yards on the ground off 46 carries and seven touchdowns. Flores led the charge with 207 yards and three touchdowns.

Quarterback Caz Wojciak also aided the Bobcats’ on the ground with 125 yards and two touchdowns of his own. Wojciak also went 4-of-8 passing for 145 yards and two touchdowns.

“We wanted to win the game, obviously, and we just came out and played hard,” Krum coach Gary Robinson said. “We’re looking to ride this momentum into district and playing harder.”

“This loss is 100 percent on me,” Burkburnett coach Scott Boswell said. “I didn’t have my team ready to play, and I’ve got to get them better prepared for district.”

Both teams were unable to get anything going on their opening drives as they both went three-and-out to start the game.

Krum got the ball rolling on their second drive, though, capped off by a 22-yard run from Flores. The Bobcats rode the energy off of their first touchdown to tack on three more scores by the end of the first half, including a 15-yard run from Wojciak. Wojciak also threw two touchdown passes to Brennan Ellis (80 yards) and Tanner Rankin (31 yards).

Krum’s defense rushed through the Burkburnett offensive line at will, while its secondary made it hard for quarterback Cameron Cahayla to complete any passes.

Bobcats’ Travis White picked off a Cahayla pass near the end of the first half and returned it 26 yards. But the Bobcats were unable to convert on the following drive.

The Bulldogs’ defensive stand did a decent job forcing Krum into a few fourth-down situations, but the explosiveness of Flores and Wojciak was too much for the Bulldogs to contain.

Krum kept pushing the pace in the second half, as Flores opened up the third quarter with a 64-yard touchdown run on the second play of the Bobcats’ first drive. Flores and the Bobcats scored 29 points alone in the third quarter, including another 41-yard run for Flores, a 47-yard run for Dane White and a 75-yard run for Wojciak, which ended with an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty as he taunted a Bulldog defender while crossing the goal line.

This did nothing but infuriate the Bulldogs, and the fourth quarter began with back-and-forth penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct for both teams.

Jake Fleckenstein scored the final touchdown of the night for the Bobcats with a 28-yard run. After a three-and-out from the Bulldogs, the Bobcats ran the ball behind Flores from their 26-yard line to Burkburnett’s 16 before finally letting the clock run out.

Burkburnett (0-6) opens district play against the Hirschi Thursday. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Krum (6-0) hosts Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
