BROCK — The Ponder Lions saw their six-game winning streak come to a halt Friday night when the Brock Eagles routed Ponder 57-14 in a highly-anticipated matchup between the top two teams in District 4-3A.

Scooting out to a two-touchdown lead at 21-7 in the first quarter, the Denton Broncos looked as if they were on their way to breaking the four-way tie atop District 5-5A. Denton’s Xavier Scott rushed for 272 yards and four touchdowns; however, the Broncos’ defense only forced three Azle punts all night as the Hornets rushed for 358 yards on the road to cap off a 55-34 victory at Bronco Field.
