The accolades for Krum pitcher Ty Damron continue to roll in even after he graduated from high school.
Damron was named a first-team Class 3A all-state selection by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association. Damron joins La Grange junior Trey Supak and Lubbock-Cooper senior Ryan Moseley as pitchers selected for the 3A first team.
Damron, a left-handed pitcher, was named the District 9-3A Pitcher of the Year after his senior season. Damron finished the season with a record of 8-2 and an ERA of 1.00.
He recorded 138 strikeouts and allowed 40 walks on the season and pitched a 17-strikeout no-hitter against Celina in the postseason.
On Saturday, the Krum lefty was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 13th round of baseball’s First-Year Player Draft.
