KRUM — Krum senior Caz Wojciak was dismissed from the school’s football team Friday, head coach and athletic director Gary Robinson said Saturday.
Wojciak was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Last season, Wojciak rushed for 1,187 yards and 14 touchdowns. He threw for 847 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions.
Wojciak was named to the All-District 9-3A first team following Krum’s first year in University Scholastic League district play.
Robinson declined to comment further regarding Wojciak’s dismissal.
The 18-year-old was the only quarterback to play for Krum since the program’s inception.
Robinson said sophomore Colten Graham will replace Wojciak as the team’s starter.
Graham was the starter on the freshman team last year and was expected to see time on the varsity team as a linebacker before he was called upon to be the team’s quarterback.
Graham made his debut Friday night in Krum’s scrimmage against Colleyville Covenant Christian.
“He’s just a sophomore, but I think he’s going to develop into a great leader,” Robinson said. “The kids have already started to rally around him after the scrimmage last night. I saw several of them going up to him and patting him on the back and giving him high-fives, even our seniors. They’re really behind him.”
