Double-digit blocks from Karissa Flack and 19 kills from Carnae Dillard were too much for Florida Atlantic in North Texas’ 25-16, 21-25, 25-15, 25-20 win Sunday.
Flack set a career high with 10 blocks, which is second only to UNT’s Courtney Windham (11 at Arkansas State) in a Sun Belt Conference match this year.
The Mean Green (19-10, 5-5 Sun Belt West) is now one victory away from the sixth 20-win campaign in school history.
UNT held the Owls (6-15, 1-9 Sun Belt East) to .076 hitting. Dillard powered the UNT offense with her .389 hitting.
UNT’s blocking line produced 13 1/2 blocks — its fourth-highest outing this year. Dillard set a personal best with six blocks, and Kaci Eaton sent back three blocks on her birthday.
North Texas will visit division foe Louisiana-Lafayette at 1 p.m. Sunday before heading to Nacogdoches to play in-state rival Stephen F. Austin on Halloween night.
