Men's basketball: UNT releases partial schedule

North Texas released part of its nonconference schedule in addition to its full slate of league games for its first season in Conference USA on Monday.

UNT will host its first game in C-USA on Jan. 9, when the Mean Green takes on Southern Miss. The game will be the opener of a two-game homestand to begin league play that will conclude with a game against Tulane two days later.

UNT will also host UAB, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, East Carolina, UTEP and Tulsa in its first season in the league. The Mean Green will travel to Marshall, Charlotte, Tulsa, Rice, Louisiana Tech, Florida International, Florida Atlantic and UT-San Antonio.

UNT also announced part of its nonconference schedule, including games at BYU on Dec. 4 and Texas A&M on Dec. 31. The Mean Green will also play in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic. UNT will open the event on Nov. 12 at Oklahoma and will play Idaho, Columbia and Portland later in the event. The partial schedule can be found in Scoreboard at right.
