NORMAN, Okla. — North Texas’ Nadiyah El-Amin and Mona Landry were double-event winners at the 45th annual John Jacobs Invitational at Oklahoma on Saturday.
El-Amin helped the Mean Green win the 400-meter relay as she was joined Kayla Savoie, Rhenique Williams and Mona Landry for a winning time of 45.57 seconds.
El-Amin also won the 200 in a time of 24.02, while Ashley Henry placed third in 24.50.
Landry also won the long jump with a leap of 5.73 meters.
Another winner for the women was Elisha Peters, who took the high jump with a season-best effort of 1.78 meters.
On the men’s side, Collin Heard led a 1-2 UNT finish in the 200, winning with a time of 21.04, while Clinton Collins was second in 21.15.
Heard also finished second in the 100 (10.65), while Kedron Sowells finished third (10.78).
Marcus Wooten won the 400 hurdles with a time of 54.18, while Tom Kalisky finished fourth in the javelin with a distance of 60.04.
