Vada King, a linebacker/defensive end from Holmes Community College in Mississippi, decommitted from North Texas today.

King committed to UNT in August and cited his connections with the Mean Green's coaching staff as a key reason he decided to continue his career in Denton.

Holmes' head coach is Jeff Koonz Sr. His son Jeff Koonz is UNT's linebackers coach.

King announced his decision to reopen his recruiting process on Twitter:

King has enjoyed a terrific sophomore season and could have some additional opportunities at higher level.

Mississippi's community colleges are some of the most highly recruited two-year schools in the country.
