Kason Martin, one of two quarterbacks in North Texas' early signing class, will be in action tonight in the Class 5A Division I state title game at AT&T Stadium.
Martin will lead Manvel in a 7 p.m. game against Highland Park. The Scots knocked Denton Ryan out in the state semifinals.
The 6-3 senior committed to UNT over the summer after throwing for nearly 3,500 yards and 46 touchdowns in 2016. The Houston Chronicle named Martin it's All-Greater Houston Newcomer of the Year.

Martin has continued to excel this year and threw for 2,564 yards and 34 touchdowns through 14 games. He has one of the top wide receivers in the state to throw to in Texas A&M commitment Jalen Preston.
Manvel will take on a Highland Park team that is 14-1 on the season.
The game will be played on Fox Sports Southwest.

A couple of players who have committed to UNT were included on the Associated Press Sports Editors all-state teams that were released this week.
Richland linebacker Larry Nixon was named to the Class 5A first team after posting 125 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions.
Ennis safety Kevyon Davis was an honorable mention all-state pick.
