Jake King and Brian Flanders of Team Trailer Storage step in to draw the bull away as rider Roy Kerwood goes to the dirt Friday night during the Bull Blowout at the North Texas Fair and Rodeo.

A sellout crowd was treated to an exciting night of bull riding Friday at the North Texas Fair and Rodeo. Cowboys from across the country tried their best to make eight seconds and claim their share of the money and bragging rights.

Houston cowboy Jonathan Brown won the Bull Blowout riding contest with a score of 85, followed by Lex Oakley of DeKalb with an 82. Placing third was Missouri native Cole Bass with an 81.

In the cowboy protection match, where teams of two bullfighters work to protect the rider once he dismounts, Jake King and Brian Flanders of Team Trailer Storage gained a lot of ground with their first-place score of 185. Finishing second was the RDL team of Cody Patton and Ross Johnson with a 181. Coming in third at 179 was the Miller Lite team of Chad Dowdy and Evan Allard.
