Rodeo: Armes makes move at NFR

Gruver’s Bray Armes has moved up the rankings at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

After struggling in the first two rounds of the steer wrestling finals, Armes has posted back-to-back finishes in the top six in the 10-round event.

Armes, who has family ties in Denton County, has earned $27,091 at the NFR, fifth among all steer wrestlers.Armes finished tied for second in Round 3 with a time of 3.8 seconds and finished second in Round 4 with a time of 3.6 seconds.

With his NFR earnings, Armes is currently 10th on the 2012 PRCA world money list.
