Gymnastics: Cochefski earns All-District honors

TWU junior gymnast Courtney Cochefski has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District Women’s at-large first team. She will now qualify for Academic All-America consideration.

Cochefski, a communication science major, has a 3.88 cumulative grade point average. She competed on bars in all meets this season and posted a season average of 9.769. Cochefski recorded 9.800 or higher in eight meets including a season-high 9.850. She qualified for the NCAA Regional for the second straight season and captured the 2013 Midwest Independent Conference bars title. Cochefski won the 2012 USA Gymnastics Individual national title and earned All-America first team honors. She received the 2012 and 2013 USA Gymnastics Scholar Athlete honors and 2012 DII Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award.

The College Sports Information Directors of America, in conjunction with Capital One, selects Academic All-District and All-America teams in 12 programs: football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's track & field/cross country, women's track & field/cross country, men's at-large and women's at-large.
