Baseball roundup: McMann shines as Liberty run-rules TCA

ADDISON — Connor McMann pitched a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts, and Hunter Griffith had three RBIs as Liberty Christian run-ruled Trinity Christian 10-0 on Friday.

Griffith went 3-for-3, adding two runs, and Cole Blaylock hit a two-run home run.

The Warriors will play host to Colleyville Covenant at noon today.

AUBREY — The Chaparrals struggled offensively, getting just three hits in a home loss to Celina in district action.

Noah Vaughn claimed the loss for Aubrey despite giving up three hits and three runs. He struck out one and walked five.

Cole Bovre, who pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief, went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Chaps, who play at Argyle at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Hebron jumped on the board early and often, keeping the Raiders winless in District 5-5A.

Ryan Burks took the loss for Ryan. Shomari Cann had a double for the Raiders, who scored both of their runs in the final frame.

Ryan plays at Flower Mound Marcus at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Sanger 7, Krum 2

KRUM — Sanger scored four runs in the second and three more in the sixth to improve to 5-0 in District 9-3A with a victory over Krum.

Ross Scott earned the win for the Indians (15-6), giving up both runs but nothing more. Wilding Smith and Anthony Escobedo closed the game with one shutout inning apiece.

Mason Lucas was on the losing end for Krum (11-11-1, 3-4 district). Karsen Hughes, Colten Graham and Lucas each had doubles for the Bobcats, who play host to Tishomingo (Okla.) at 4:45 p.m. today.

Sanger will play at home against Bridgeport at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
