Basketball Roundup: Falcons cruise past Rider

CORINTH — Reality Jackson scored 12 points to lead the Lake Dallas boys to a 51-37 victory over Wichita Falls Rider on Friday Night.

Josh Jackson was also in double-digits for the Falcons (9-14) with 11 points, and Lorren Bassett added nine.

 

Denton 60, Wichita Falls 58

WICHITA FALLS — Ryan Daniels and Michael Jackson each scored 12 points to lead Denton over Wichita Falls.

Many Patterson added nine points for the Broncos (7-13).

 

Aubrey 58, Pilot Point 35

AUBREY — Javion Williams scored 24 points to lead Aubrey over Pilot Point.

Bry-Len Williams and Jevon Saylor were also in double-digits for the Chaparrals (17-4) with 10 points each.

Pilot Point was led by Mason Richey’s 12 points, while  Stephen Richter and Cory Powell each scored seven points.

 

Springtown 56, Sanger 52

SPRINGTOWN — Despite an 11-point effort from Brennan Bloom, the Indians fell to Springtown.

Jake Statsny scored nine points for Sanger (10-11) and Tanner Thomas added seven.

 

GIRLS

Wichita Falls 36, Denton 18

WICHITA FALLS — The Denton Lady Broncos couldn’t muster much offense in a loss to Wichita Falls.

April Pena led Denton with eight points, while Mariah Seastrunk added five.

 

Liberty Christian 53, Plano Prestonwood 52

ARGYLE — Rebekah Hand scored 18 points and Sydnie Goodson added 13 as the Lady Warriors defeated Plano Prestonwood in their TAPPS district opener.

Rebekah Hand led Liberty with 18 points, while Sydnie Goodson scored 13 points, and Rayvan Christian also was in double figures for Liberty (12-11) with 12 points.

 

Krum 65, Bridgeport 16

KRUM — Rachel Wallace scored 15 points to lead the Lady Cats (17-4) over Bridge­port.

Julia Smaltz added 14 points for Krum, while Diamond Martinez had 10.
