Three players scored in double figures to lead TWU to a 66-48 win over visiting Cameron on Saturday in the Pioneers’ final game of the season. All eight players in uniform scored at least four points for TWU.

TWU sophomore Ria Pateraki scored a game-high 14 points, while juniors Rachel Schlosser and Rebekah Cluley added 12 points apiece.

The three players missed double-doubles by a combined six rebounds. Schlosser led the Pioneers with nine rebounds, while Pateraki had eight and Cluley seven.

Junior Taylor Swift added nine points for TWU.

Cameron scored first, but then the Pioneers went on a 13-4 run. TWU led 33-15 at halftime after holding the Aggies to five field goals and 21.7 percent shooting in the half.

The Pioneers opened the second half on a 12-4 run to push their lead to 45-19 at the 16:35 mark. TWU kept its lead in the 20s while shooting 48.3 percent in the second half.

The Pioneers outrebounded Cameron 40-38 and outscored the Aggies 34-14 in the paint. TWU took advantage of Cameron’s 20 turnovers to score 26 points.

“We played a great game from start to finish,” TWU coach Beth Jillson said. “We turned down OK shots for great shots and executed really well on offense. Our defense was outstanding, holding them to under 30 percent shooting. It’s a good win and great way to end the alumni day.”

TWU finished with a 7-19 record and was 5-15 in Lone Star Conference action.
