Paris at Argyle

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Eagle Stadium

Records: Paris (1-1), Argyle (2-0)

What’s on the line: Argyle, No. 4 in the latest Associated Press Class 3A poll, wasted little time jumping out to an insurmountable halftime lead against Fort Worth Nolan a week ago with a balanced offensive effort led by Brandon Boyzuick’s two touchdown passes and two short rushing touchdowns from do-it-all wide receiver Ian Sadler.

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Bearcat Stadium

Records: Aubrey (1-1), Whitesboro (1-1)

What’s on the line: Aubrey will try to string together back-to-back wins against its rival located farther north on U.S. Highway 377. The Chaparrals’ rushing attack, led by Daniel Longhenry, will find an equal counterpart in Whitesboro running back Collin Kilcrease. Former Aubrey quarterback Kyle Lynn will lead the Bearcats against his old team.

Where: Indian Stadium

Records: Pilot Point (1-1), Sanger (0-2)

What’s on the line: Sanger will try to snap a 14-game losing streak when it faces Pilot Point, but the Class 2A squad won’t make that an easy task. The Bearcats enter tonight’s game following a 43-7 victory over Lindsay. Indians QB Brandon Mann’s efforts were spoiled late in a loss to Liberty Christian.

What’s on the line: The Krum Bobcats are looking to avoid an 0-3 start and could pick up their first win of the season against Alvord, a team that lost by a touchdown to Ponder last week. Krum almost pulled off a late comeback win against Farmersville but fell 35-27 to the Farmers.

What’s on the line: The Liberty Warriors have tested Celina, one of the state’s top programs, on several occasions, and Celina enters the game ranked eighth in the AP Class 3A poll. The Bobcats are led by dangerous QB Nathan Elliott, who is their leading rusher. Warrior RB JonAaron Howell has seven touchdowns in two games, including one on defense.

The Knights are coming off a 53-8 win over San Antonio Winston, while the Lions fell 64-12 to Austin Veritas.
