Volleyball roundup: Lady Raiders split final matches at Classic

The hosting Ryan Lady Raiders split their matches on Saturday, the final day of the Ryan Kick-Off Classic, beating Lubbock Monterey 25-22, 25-11, 25-11 and losing to Argyle 25-15, 25-17, 25-12.

Ryan will host Dallas Woodrow Wilson at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Guyer splits final matches of tourney

The Guyer volleyball team almost pulled off a big upset in the Kick-Off Classic, just falling short against the tournament runner-up, Frisco Wakeland, 28-26, 25-23, 25-20.

The Lady Wildcats also topped McKinney 25-22, 25-19, 25-16, and will play Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Burleson Centennial.

Lady Broncos finish tourney with pair of wins

Denton bested Addison Greenhill 26-24, 25-13, 25-16, and Frisco Independence 20-25, 25-11, 25-21, 24-26, 17-15 to end the Kick-Off Classic.

The Lady Broncos will host Flower Mound Marcus at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Argyle sweeps Ryan,

Red Oak

The Argyle Lady Eagles defeated host Ryan 25-15, 25-17, 25-12, in addition to Red Oak, 25-15, 25-12, 25-9.

Argyle hosts Little Elm at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Calvary wins two in Classic

The Calvary Lady Lions defeated Aubrey 25-22, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17 and Nocona 21-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-10 on the final day of the Ryan Kick-Off Classic.

Jordan Debus made the all-tourney team for Calvary and finished with 27 kills, 19 digs and three blocks on the day. Kelly Crow added 37 digs, while Alex Martinez had 50 assists and 21 digs.

The Lady Lions will participate in a triangular at Lindsay on Tuesday, along with Paradise.

Pilot Point goes

distance twice

Pilot Point’s volleyball squad forced both Fort Worth Trimble Tech and Greenville to five sets at the Kick-Off Classic. The Lady Cats beat Trimble Tech 25-23, 21-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-8, but fell to Greenville 18-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19, 11-15.

Pilot Point will host Van Alstyne at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lady Chaps split final pair of Classic matches

Aubrey dropped its match with Calvary 25-22, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17, in the Kick-Off Classic, but swept Dallas Hillcrest 25-7, 25-23, 25-14.

The Lady Chaps will play host to Callisburg on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Liberty Christian struggles on tournament’s final day

The Liberty Christian Lady Warriors dropped each of their matches on the Kick-Off Classic’s third and final day.

Liberty lost to Waxahachie 26-28, 25-18, 25-16, 25-13, and Bryan Rudder 25-21, 25-20, 25-12.

The Lady Warriors play at Saginaw Chisholm Trail at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Lady Falcons win three matches to take bracket

GARLAND — Lake Dallas won all three of its matches played Saturday to claim the Challenger Bracket of the Garland tournament.

The Lady Falcons defeated North Garland 25-7, 25-11, Gilmer 25-18, 25-15 and Forney 25-23, 26-24.

The Lady Falcons’ Adrianna Nolly totaled 25 kills on the day and Jenn Chapman had 44 assists.

Megan Turner contributed 14 kills and 18 digs.

Lake Dallas plays at Sanger at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
