Viktorija Jablonska had a match-high 11 kills and Josie Santos added nine as TWU swept visiting Abilene Christian 25-17, 25-20, 26-24 on Saturday.

It was the final regular-season meeting before ACU moves to NCAA Division I.

The Pioneers (21-6, 14-4 Lone Star) tied the school record for most conference wins in a season. The 1996 squad posted a 14-4 record.

In the first set, Jablonska led TWU with four kills, as the Pioneers forced the Wildcats into 10 errors and held them to a .050 hitting percentage.

In the second set, TWU was up 20-13 before ACU went on a 7-3 run to cut the deficit to three before the Pioneers sealed the win on back-to-back kills by Chloe’ Tate.

In the third set, Abilene Christian rallied to take a 16-13 lead. The teams went back and forth before TWU got consecutive kills from Torie Talkington and Hayley Summers to end the match.

Jablonska finished with a match-high 16 1/2 points on her 11 kills, three aces and three blocks. Marcela Alves added eight kills and a team-best .444 hitting percentage. Kayla Rivero had 21 assists, while Morgan Wilson posted 17 digs.

“I am very pleased with how we played this week,” TWU head coach Shelly Barberee said. “We dropped just one set in the three games, and we played against good teams in the conference and region. I am proud of the girls for tying the school record.

“We have two tough games next week and we need to carry this momentum into those games.”

The Pioneers will close out the regular season with two home games. TWU will face Tarleton State at 7 p.m. Friday and Angelo State at 2 p.m. Saturday.
