TWU secured the sixth seed in the Lone Star Conference tournament with a 25-16, 25-14, 25-21 win over Texas-Permian Basin at Kitty Magee Arena with much help from the four Pioneer seniors -- Briley Cole-Lewis, Haley Collins, Kerstin Jenkins and Miri Shade.

Shade posted her ninth double-double with a match-high 12 kills and 13 digs, and Cole-Lewis totaled 11 kills. Jenkins posted nine kills and a match-high 19 digs, while Collins collected a match-high seven blocks and six kills.

The Pioneers (14-17, 10-10 LSC) posted an attack percentage of .277 compared with just .101 by the Falcons (4-25, 1-19).

Collins, who had not played since Oct. 3, racked up four kills in Set 1 to propel the Pioneers.

In Set 2, Shade threw down a crosscourt kill in the midst of a 5-0 run for a 9-all tie. A Collins kill ignited seven straight points capped by a block from Shade and Collins for a 17-10 lead. Shade finished off the set with a kill.

An 8-1 opening to Set 3 established the tone for the Pioneers, including consecutive blocks by Collins and Cole-Lewis. Shade found the back corner for a kill at 16-7, but the Falcons pieced together five straight points for a 23-18 game. Shade finished off the match on a kill off a block.

The tournament begins Thursday with the Pioneers facing third-seeded Angelo State at noon in Stephenville.
