Field conditions finally allowed TWU to play the season's first games at Pioneer Field, and TWU split a pair with Oklahoma Christian in a 15-4 loss and 7-5 win Wednesday.

In TWU's opening loss, Lindy Kennedy walked, stole second and scored the first run on a Jordan Kisselburg single to center.

OC scored in the top of the second after three straight singles, as a walk pushed a Lady Eagle home. A single down the right field line scored a pair before another single added a run for a 4-1 OC advantage.

Trailing 7-1 in the third, TWU's Tylia Sylestine singled through the right side and Hazel Puempel doubled to right. Abby Walker singled to left to score Puempel.

The Lady Eagles scored five runs in the fourth to jump ahead 12-2.

With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, an error allowed Sylestine to reach first. Singles by Puempel and Kisselburg filled the bases. Walker was hit by a pitch to push in Sylestine, and Cheyenne Mahy singled through the left side to cut the margin to 12-4.

The Pioneers used a pitching fleet, with Walker, Mahy and Raegyn Parrish making appearances. Walker (2-5) allowed 10 earned runs.

In the nightcap, Kennedy and Sylestine singled to begin the game, Puempel walked to load the bases, and Mahy produced an RBI for a 1-0 TWU edge.

OC evened the score in the second with an RBI single. The Lady Eagles took a 3-1 lead in the third on a triple to center that preceded a throwing error.

An RBI by Kisselburg pulled the Pioneers to within a run in the bottom of the third.

TWU's Melanie Stephens tripled in the fourth, Avery Williams sent a single to the pitcher and stole second, and Kennedy was hit by a pitch. Sylestine doubled to right-center for three runs, and Puempel blasted a double to right to score Sylestine and increase the lead to 6-3.

A sacrifice fly by Marisa Arriaga in the fifth gave the Pioneers a 7-3 advantage.

Mahy (4-1) threw a complete game with four strikeouts and a walk.

The Pioneers will host Texas A&M-Kingsville for a game at 6 p.m. Friday and a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday.
