Sub-varsity football: Ryan bounces back to beat Boswell

FORT WORTH - The Ryan Lady Raiders recovered from a first-set loss to defeat Saginaw Boswell 24-26, 25-23, 25-15, 25-19.

Whitney Mills racked up 12 kills, 33 assists and three blocks to lead the Lady Raiders (8-11). Danella Bunselmeyer had 11 kills, five aces and five blocks, Ryleigh Thompson tallied nine kills and Lindsay Shanks had five aces and 10 digs in the victory.

 

Dallas Bishop Lynch d. Liberty Christian

ARGYLE - The Liberty Christian Lady Warriors were unable to pick up their first district win of the season against Dallas Bishop Lynch, falling 25-18, 25-18, 25-18.

Betsy Smith had nine kills and six digs, and Sophie Asprey notched 12 assists and 11 digs in the loss for Liberty (12-10, 0-2).

Cassie Oakland added 14 digs, and Abby Deaver tallied 18 digs and five kills.

 

Gunter d. Aubrey

GUNTER - Ashley Prince had 13 kills and one ace, but it wasn't enough in Aubrey's 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 road loss to Gunter.

Maggie McCullough added six kills and one block in the loss for the Lady Chaparrals (13-11).

 

Burkburnett d. Pilot Point

BURKBURNETT - Despite winning two of the first three sets, Pilot Point could not close out Burkburnett in a 22-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-12, 15-11 loss.

Pilot Point (8-6) looks to recover Friday when it faces Frisco Lone Star at home.

 

Kennedale d. Lake Dallas

KENNEDALE - Lake Dallas dropped to .500 with a 25-21, 25-19, 25-17 loss to Kennedale.

The Lady Falcons (14-14) start District 4-4A play on Friday against Little Elm.
