Middle school volleyball: McMath topples Crownover to secure No. 1 seed in tournament

McMath secured the overall No. 1 seed and sealed its spot on the championship side of the end-of-season tournament bracket with a 23-25, 25-18, 25-15 win in an eighth-grade A match against Crownover on Thursday night.

Leading the way for the Lady Tigers (6-1) were Kenzie Dozier, Emily Curtis, Dana Atkins and A.J. Gerdes.

Lake Dallas seventh-grade A d. Harpool

Lake Dallas turned back previously unbeaten Harpool 26-24, 25-18 in straight sets.

For Harpool (6-1), Isabel Jimenez and McKenzie Bland had three digs apiece, Elizabeth Donnelly had two kills, Lauren Heard had one block and Nicole Ayulo had three aces.

Harpool seventh-grade C d. Lake Dallas

Harpool improved to 6-1 with a 25-18, 25-16 against Lake Dallas.

Leading the way for the Lady Longhorns with strong serves were Madison Johnson, Launa Wilson and Jasmine Deckard.

Navo seventh-grade B d. Little Elm

Navo beat Little Elm 25-20, 25-10 in straight sets.

It was Navo's first sweep of the season.

Leading the way for Navo was Riley Grant with 11 points from the serving line, two of which were aces.

Also, Julia McKeathan served for nine points, including five aces. Lauren Naidoo was solid from the serving line and at setter.

Navo seventh-grade C d. Little Elm

Navo beat Little Elm 25-8, 28-26 as Danajia Haynes served 21 straight points and collected seven aces in the first set.

In the second set, Blessing Sundire and Alexus Evans collected six points apiece from the serving line.

Allysea Pugh and Tatyanna Bagby played solid defense and serve receive.

Lake Dallas seventh-grade B d. Harpool

Lake Dallas rallied to beat Harpool, 19-25, 25-19, 25-22.

For Harpool (4-3), Sydney Swann had five aces and Brooke Roberts and Swann each had two kills.
