Sub-varsity basketball roundup: Guyer JV boys roll past Saginaw

Guyer more than doubled up on Saginaw in rolling to a 61-30 win in a boys junior varsity game Tuesday night.

Bryson Erby led the way for the Wildcats (12-5, 2-0) with 13 points, while Xavier Brown added 12. Dave Dhaliwal and Kason Kilgore were also in double figures with 10 points each.

Other scorers for Guyer were Gordon Hill with nine points, Mitch Willard with six, Demontrie Taylor five and Erik Ramon, Sam Perry, Sheldon Childress and Terrell Singleton all with two points.

 

Ryan JV boys 48, The Colony 34

Ryan went wire-to-wire in polishing off The Colony.

For the Raiders (8-6, 2-0), Trent Willis had a team-high 12 points, while J.T. Brooks and Nick Jones each had eight.

Also scoring were Arthur Reives and Allen Grant with five points each, Montarious Banks and Devin Kiner with four points apiece and Xavier Pittman with three points.

 

Guyer 9th-grade A boys 39, Saginaw 29

Guyer got contributions from several players in producing a win against Saginaw.

Leading the way for the Wildcats was John Dixon with 11 points, two assists, six rebounds and three steals. Meanwhile, Connor Roque finished with eight points, three assists, three blocks and five steals. Also, Alec Tovar had seven points and two rebounds.

Finally, Stephen Wright ended with two points, two assists, three blocks, six steals and 12 rebounds.

 

Saginaw 9th-grade A girls 40, Guyer 26

Saginaw limited Guyer to nine first-half points and eventually cruised to an easy victory.

For the Lady Wildcats (2-10, 0-4), Chandler Dean had eight points, Katlin Herlacher had five points, and Bailey Avano and Tristen Ward had four points each.
