Middle School basketball roundup: Calhoun 7th-grade boys win district title

Tyreke Davis and Thomas Wilson sparked a fourth-quarter rally after trailing by one going into the third quarter in leading Calhoun to a 39-24 win in a boys seventh-grade A game Monday night.

Davis scored 12 of his 17 points for the Cougars (10-3) in the fourth quarter while Thomas, who finished with 16 points, added seven points of his own to help lead his team to the district championship.

 

Girls

McMath 7th-grade A 35, Calhoun 13

McMath had little trouble in manufacturing a win against Calhoun.

The Lady Tigers were led by Jade Townes' 10 points. Also, Taryn Johnson scored eight points and Lily Mansour had six points.

 

McMath 7th-grade B 34, Calhoun 14

McMath used a steady stream of points in each quarter to post a victory against Calhoun.

Leading the way for the Lady Tigers were Karleigh Thomas and Vivica Hughes with 10 points each. Meanwhile, Brittan Wawro scored eight points.

 

McMath 7th-grade C 16, Calhoun 2

Paced by Caitlyn Wilkins and Miracle Santiago, McMath turned back Calhoun.

Both players scored six points each.
