Denton Boys Baseball: Strong pitching leads White Sox past Rangers

The White Sox combined the pitching of Brady Russell and Shea Flynn with solid offensive production to score a 10-4 victory over the Rangers in 10U Grapefruit league action Tuesday.

Russell fanned five in his three innings of work and Flynn struck out two in his inning on the mound as the Rangers improved to a league-best 7-1.

Bradly Rocha led the offense with two hits, drove in two runs and scored twice while Matthew Bedford had a running-scoring single.

 

8U Grapefruit

Rangers 15, Braves 5

Shane Rutledge had two hits, including a key double late in the game that propelled the Rangers to a 15-5 triumph over the Braves in 8U Grapefruit league action Tuesday.

Darius Smith was outstanding at shortstop for the Rangers while leftfielder Levi McManus’ throw to third baseman Gage Weis got a key out early in the game as the Rangers improved to 7-1 for the season.

 

Yankees 8, Giants 3

The Yankees broke open a scoreless game in the fourth inning en route to a 8-3 victory over the Giants in 8U Grapefruit league action.

Samuel Fogg had a two-run triple while Joseph Dominguez and Omar Gonzalez came up with key hits to pace the Yankees’ offense. Dominguez and Evan Harbach were responsible for key defensive plays for the Yankees as they improved to 2-6 for the season.

 

Rangers 15, Yankees 10

Zach Dowdy had two hits and drove in three runs as the Rangers knocked off the Yankees in 8U Grapefruit league action.

Shortstop Xavier Saucedo turned in several outstanding defensive plays for the Rangers.

 

Rangers 18, Braves 11

Strong defensive plays by Shane Rutledge and Cade Niewinski enabled the Rangers to hold off the Braves for a 18-11 victory.

Saucedo had a big night at the plate with three hits and drove in three runs.
