Denton Boys Baseball: White Sox improve season mark to 9-1

Strong defense and timely hitting led the league-leading White Sox to a 9-3 triumph over the Angels in 10U Grapefruit league action Tuesday night.

Highlighting the defensive effort for the White Sox was Shea Flynn’s throw from the left field corner to cutoff man Bradly Rocha, who threw to Brady Russell at home to gun down a runner and end a late Angel rally.

Leading the offensive output for the White Sox was Hayden Reedy, who hit a bases-loaded double in the first inning and doubled again in the third. Russell had two hits, scored two runs and drove in two. Drew Hammett also had two hits and drove in two runs as the White Sox improved to 9-1.


8U Grapefruit

Yankees 13, Braves 3

Joseph Dominguez, Hayden Mullins and Noah Garcia each had three hits while Evan Harbach had a double and a single as the Yankees rolled past the Braves.

Dominguez, Mullins, Weldon Mason and Ian Veteto turned in strong defensive efforts as the Yankees improved to 3-6 and the Braves slipped to 4-4-1.



Giants vs. Rays

Zaine Smith was the hitting star for the Giants while Micah Kinard and Ben Harting led the Giants’ defense in their game against the Rays.
