Sub-varsity football: Hunter posts four TDs in JV Raiders’ victory

Paul Hunter continued his sterling season while leading Ryan’s junior varsity Blue team to a 41-0 win over McKinney on Thursday.

Hunter was 6-of-7 passing for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He added 110 yards rushing on eight carries, with TD runs of 11 and 3 yards.

Hunter started with a 46-yard scoring strike to Jordan Murray. Luis Estrada kicked the extra point.

Hunter laster threw a 68-yard TD pass to Matthew Waggoner.

Other Ryan touchdowns came on a 16-yard fumble return by Jesse Rojas and a 1-yard run by Tre Rivera, who had 66 yards rushing on eight carries.

Ryan beat McKinney with an impressive performance by its defense. The Raiders (4-0) made four fourth-down stops.

Ryan secured the win with a 50-yard touchdown pass from Nick Watts to Andrew Flores. Watts scored the Raiders’ first TD on a 2-yard run. J.D. Delarosa kicked the extra point.

Flores rushed for 112 yards and caught four passes for 144 yards. Watts rushed for 87 yards and finished with 202 passing yards.

Also for Ryan, Elijah Randall caused one fumble and Matthew Pruett recovered one.
