Maurice Wharton scored three touchdowns to help the Denton Broncos junior varsity improve to 3-1 with a 27-21 victory over the Lake Dallas Falcons on Thursday night.
Wharton scored on runs of 12 and 6 yards and caught a 40-yard TD pass from Christian Rodriguez. Israel Galvan accounted for the other Denton score on a 2-yard run.

Pearson Schrool caught an 18-yard TD pass from Brent Broadbent, and Caleb Crockett returned an interception for a score to lead Denton Gold (3-1).
Lake Dallas 33, Denton Purple freshmen 13
Jayden Aland scored on a 40-yard fumble return, and Edson Vasquez completed a 60-yard touchdown pass to Lykeith Cole, but it wasn’t enough for the Denton Purple freshmen.
Denton is now 2-2 for the season.
