The McMath Lady Tigers’ seventh-grade “A” team completed a perfect season Thursday by sweeping Crownover 25-20, 25-11 to claim a district championship.
McMath never dropped a set in forging its 9-0 district record and was 14-0 overall. The team comprises Miles Baker, Kate Cowan, Lucy Martin, Sydnie Acker, Holly Higgs, Stephanie Williamson, Alyssa Williamson, Kendall Rivers, McKenzie Sprabary and Makenzi Beavers.
McMath won the B-team match 25-19, 25-9. Standouts were Abby Poston, Alex Palesano and Tatyana Jones.
Tressa Hall and Peyton Overton led McMath to a 25-20, 25-13 C-team sweep of Crownover.
Little Elm seventh-grade A d. Harpool
The Harpool Lady Longhorns got strong play from Bryer Winder and Saylor Snowden but it wasn’t enough as they lost to Little Elm, 25-7, 13-25, 25-13.
Winder had three kills and Snowden had eight digs as the Lady Longhorns slipped to 4-5.
Little Elm seventh-grade C d. Harpool
Harpool’s Allie Griffiths had 11 service points and Alexis Benton had one kill as the Lady Longhorns fell to Little Elm 25-17, 25-21.
Harpool is now 7-2 on the season.
Harpool seventh-grade B d. Little Elm
Harpool improved to 3-6 with a 25-22, 25-15 sweep of Little Elm.
Leading the charge for the Lady Longhorns were Katelyn Salsdino with five hits, Molly Gilkey with one block and Gabby Perez with an ace.
