Sub-varsity basketball: Guyer JV finishes 13-0 in district play

The Guyer junior varsity Wildcats completed a perfect run through District 5-4A on Tuesday when they defeated Fort Worth Brewer 63-43.

The Wildcats wrapped up the season with a 22-7 record and went 13-0 in 5-4A action.

Against Brewer, Guyer trailed 13-9 after the first quarter and outscored Brewer 41-20 over the next two quarters to take control.

Eric Ramon led Guyer with 20 points and had seven rebounds and two steals. Gordon Hill had 12 points, two assists and five rebounds, while Kason Kilgore had 10 points, two assists, two rebounds and four steals. Connor Rogue added nine points.


Guyer freshmen 55, Fort Worth Brewer 23

The Guyer freshmen, behind a balanced scoring effort and a swarming defense, rolled to a 32-point victory over Fort Worth Brewer to wrap up the season with a 22-6 record and finish 12-1 in District 5-4A.

Guyer jumped out to a 12-1 lead and led 26-6 at halftime.

Zach Garza led Guyer with 17 points, Jakin Thorne had eight and Malik Foster, JT Ashcraft and Preston Rush each had six. Caleb Jordan added five points.
