Denton Boys Baseball: Walk-off RBI double gives Marlins win

Brady Russell’s walk-off RBI double paced the Marlins to a 6-4 victory over the Tigers in Denton Boys Baseball 12-and-under Grapefruit league action.

With the game deadlocked at 4, and with runners at second and third, Russell lined a double to right-center to bring home the go-ahead runs. The Marlins evened their record at 3-3 with the win.

Gage Lynn-Hart scored three times for the Marlins and also pitched 32/3 innings, allowing one run while striking out three to pick up the win.

Tigers 6, Indians 3

The Tigers got strong pitching performances from Matt Grigg and Christian Henry as they improved to 4-1 for the season.

Grigg struck out three and Henry fanned four, while the offensive was led by Levi Elder, Brady Killham, Tucker Voyles, Cullen Martin, Grigg and Henry.

Marlins 6, Cubs 3

The offensive attack, led by Jacob Fritz and Alden Lord, enabled the Marlins to take their first victory of the season.

Fritz and Brittain Fisher both had three hits, while Alden Lord, Emilio Nunez, Aaron Ketchersid and Jamison Young had two hits each and Raul Sagaribay III, Brodie Patrick, Diego Diaz, Aaron Borges and Jake Farrell all had one as the Marlins improved to 1-4-1 for the season.
