Logien Franklin, a 14-year-old freshman at Guyer High School, recently captured the gold medal in the 100-meter dash at the TAAF Summer Games in Corpus Christi. He won the event in a time of 10.89, setting a new state record in the 14-under division, breaking the previous record that had stood for 32 years. He qualified for the Games of America this past weekend in Hershey-Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and claimed the gold in the 100-meters with a time of 11.20.
