Middle school football: Wilson scores two long touchdowns in Navo victory

Adrian Wilson scored a pair of long-distance touchdowns in leading the eighth-grade Navo A-team Panthers to a 22-8 victory over Lake Dallas on Tuesday night.

Wilson scored on a 99-yard run and a 40-yard run, while K’Andre Jackson scored on a 3-yard run.

Navo is now 3-0.

In the B-team game, Jeremiah Gonzalez, Benjamin Rozell and Dyland Meyer scored in Navo’s 18-12 victory over Lake Dallas.

Crownover eighth-grade A 20, Myers 6

Trevon Turner scored twice and was a leader on defense as the Crownover Cowboys (2-1) rolled to a 14-point win over Myers.

Turner scored on runs of 5 and 3 yards and Trent Ponsonby added a 7-yard TD run to lead the offense. Devon Jefferson and Skylar McLerran were standouts on defense.

Crownover eighth-grade B 20, Myers 6

Three players got into the scoring action as Crownover knocked off the Myers Titans.

Michael Cook scored on a 3-yard run, Harrison Babbitt went 35 yards for his TD and Dabira Ogunwuyi scored from 30 yards out to lead the Crownover effort. Tyler Dooty and Adolpho Rodarte led the defense.

McMath eighth-grade A 30, Little Elm 0

Clayton Tune passed for two touchdowns and Nick Edwards ran for a pair as the McMath Tigers stayed unbeaten.

Tune had 150 yards passing, including a 43-yard scoring pass to Tyrus Johnson and a 32-yard strike to Wilson Strange. Edwards, who finished with 125 yards on the ground, had scoring runs of 39 and 43 yards. Alex Roussos added three extra-point kicks.

Juan Rabago came up big on defense with two interceptions as the Tigers improved to 2-0 on the season.

McMath suffered a 13-0 B-team loss to Little Elm.

Lake Dallas seventh-grade A 16, Navo 6

The Navo Panthers saw their record slip to 1-2 with a 10-point loss to Lake Dallas.

Deondre Dansby scored the Navo touchdown on a 65-yard run.

Navo seventh-grade B 18, Lake Dallas 0

In a meeting of unbeaten teams, the Navo Panthers used a strong defensive effort for a shutout victory.

Kerrell Woods, Christian Hernandez and Tristan Randolph each scored a TD to lead Navo (3-0).

Crownover seventh-grade A 31, Myers 8

Cole Schroeder threw three touchdown passes as the Crownover Cowboys remained perfect on the year at 3-0.

Schroeder, who completed eight of 12 passes for 123 yards, hit Connor Briggs with a 5-yard TD pass and connected with Devion Harmon on scoring strikes of 40 and 50 yards. Isaac Carrillo scored on a 12-yard run, and Sam Meeks added a 15-yard TD run to close out the Crownover scroing.

Crownover’s Dylan Parham had a pass interception, Daniel Stewart recovered a fumble and Joseph Nathan, Carrillo and Payne Williams were standouts on defense.

Crownover seventh-grade B 13, Myers 0

The Crownover Cowboys combined a solid defensive effort with a big-play offense to claim their first victory of the season.

Daniel Thompson, Jack Massey, Jalon Isabel, Jesse Gonzalez and Greg Gatzke led the defensive charge for the Cowboys (1-1-1).

Sashe Stone rushed for 122 yards on eight carries and scored one of the Crownover TDs on a 58-yard run. Ryan Goswick had 67 yards on five carries and scored on a 35-yard run. Austin Beale and Nate Schiele also provided strong offensive play.

McMath seventh-grade A 20, Little Elm 0

Corbin Shelly had a big night for McMath as the Tigers remained undefeated at 2-0 with their second shutout.

Shelly rushed for 115 yards, including scoring runs of 59 and 10 yards, and also returned a fumble 44 yards for a score. Joshua King added the point-after kick.

Isaiah Wofford and Kyle York each had fumble recoveries, while Wofford added 35 yards rushing for McMath.

Little Elm seventh-grade B 20, McMath 6

Armando De Leon scored a touchdown for McMath, but the Tigers saw their record fall to 1-1.
